Leah trotted around aimlessly in the woods. Maybe because she was bored. Maybe out of habit. Maybe just to move. She wasn't sure. It was most likely out of habit, though. Snap, snap, snap, the twigs snapped under her paws. She kept her senses alert. Particularly her nose and ears. Smelling for any smells of wolves to avoid. Hearing for any sounds to avoid. Maybe she should just lie in a hole and never come out. She didn't know why she tried to live. There was no point. No reason or meaning. But she had to go, she had to keep moving, to keep trying. There had to be something better out there than this. But what could it possibly be? She wasn't sure, but she had to find it.

Summer trotted around and smelled a wolf. She slowly followed until she spotted Leah. 'Only a female' Summer thought happily. "Hello there. I'm Summer." She greeted.

Leah twitched her ears back. Had she heard a voice? She turned head to look at who had made the sound. Another wolf. Only a female. She could fight off a female, nothing to be afraid of. "Go away." she said sharply. Leah never stopped trotting. She had to keep moving, she was afraid that if she didn't she would collapse and never move again. Never try to get up, never try to find the meaning of life. She turned her head straight again, watching the tree's as she passed them.

"What's wrong?" Summer asked confused, "I don't bite." She yawned and slowly followed, her eyes drooping. She wanted to just stop and go on her way but she was pretty much a loner now.

"That's not any of your business, wolf." Leah snapped, not looking at Summer. "Leave." she said in a tone of finality. She quickened her pace.

Summer huffed, "Fine. Your loss." She chuckled and turned around, 'What an odd wolf.' Summer thought.

Finally. Leah thought. She slowed her pace to her normal trot. I'll have to be more alert. she told herself. Her head hung low, her eyes drooped, she was practically sleep walking now, forgetting what she told herself as soon as she thought it. The tree's passed by unknowingly, as did the miles.

Summer trotted happily back to camp and looked at the food pile, a few rabbits and a squirrel was all that was left. Summer took a rabbit and nibbled aimlessly.

Leah was finally starting to feel tired. No, she was already feeling tired, now she was feeling exhausted. She didn't know how long she had been trotting, or how many miles had passed, if any had. Maybe she was just traveling in circles. She let herself stop moving and curled up into a ball. It was starting to get dark now. Her eyes closed, her mind drifted, she was sleeping now.
